So, anybody notice...

...that we talk about roleplaying a lot, but we don't actually roleplay much? Kind of a shame, really.

No offense intended by that. I loved that place, and now I love it here.

I'm a bit sad about that as well. It's just that, it's mostly just Homestuck and Dimensional Clash, and I don't do those types of things. Even then, the IC threads aren't even active. My roleplay died and I have nothing left up my sleeves.

At this point, I'm debating whether or not to remove the chatbox. I'm not sure if it's doing more harm than good is the thing.

I'd be with you on removing the chat box. I never do anything but lurk in it anyway.

I'm thinking of some sort generic fantasy type thing, like Chaos made some time ago? Like, humans, goblins, elves, monkey-men, etc..

Remove the chatbox or not, I'd be fine with it. I really only discussed RPing on there, and Skyrim, but there are plenty other ways to discuss such things. Of course, then you might want to solve the problem of the threads shutting down when they reach 80 or so pages, but you can't really find an answer to that.

And as for participating in RPs...I would, if anything interested me. Currently I believe I am in the "shit at running things" phase, so actually making an RP is impossible because I quickly forget about in. JOINING something, on the other hand...

If Eo made something, anything, I would join in a heartbeat.

The chatbox does very little that steam or other IRC cant, so removing it is fine by me. I have little idea about how the others feel about this, but I am sure they will agree or understand enough to be okay with it.

Except that I don't have Steam or whatever.

And honestly, very little has been motivating me to write. I stick around less because I want to RP than that I like the people here enough to spend most of my free time at least lurking here.

If the chatbox was removed, I would definitely be here less. But I understand why you would want to get rid of it.

Eh, while I can definitly see the benefits of removing the Chatbox, there is also the problem that it is also a good way to have a quick conversation that you couldn't have in a thread, and that plenty of us don't have Steam.

I mean, sure if we remove that Chatbox, it would possibly bring some motivation into RPing. Unfortunately, a lot of people only stay here to hang with their friends, and the Chatbox is where to do it without spamming a thread.

See, the Sporum doesn't have a Chatbox, and everyone wants to Chat. So, Spam becomes abundant with the drivel of noobs talking about their personal lives. We have a Chatbox. We can talk about whatever the Hell we want on it, and keep it out of the threads. If you look around, we have little to no Spam. Clearly, the Chatbox is a very useful tool.

I'm just saying, by removing the Chatbox, this forum will take a pretty heavy blow.

I was thinking something along the lines of Deus Ex.

I'd be up for something that caught my interest, if it was more of a slower pace. I'm busy, as I know everyone is, and RP's that grow quickly I can't keep up with.

I suppose I could try to run The Eight again. I'd need to rework the plot a bit, but man, I really want to use Doctor Richard Argos. I also wouldn't play the Hero of Earth, so that would be open...

I put up a planning thread if anyone's interested, I'm in the mood for an RP but have no idea as to what RP I want to do.

ECF does fine with our chatbox. Keeps the board active. So keep it.
