I just realized how much my avatar and Sig can make me look like a furry.

I probably would if I could draw. :P I wouldn't object to have a badass fursona. I really enjoy anthropomorphic art.

That's about what the term means, on its own.

You can also do what I do and throw money at people who can draw when you get the chance. It's something. Or even snag the occasional free art, there's people willing to help people get started out.

My avatar was done by someone for free actually. I'd really like to commission someone sometime, but probably won't happen until I'm self supporting.

And I could agree with that ji.

I would do a lot more drawing if I had a tablet. Which, coincidentally, requires money. Imagine that.

Some of the Chinese knockoffs are relatively cheap. Can't vouch for their quality.

Hm, maybe Wacom's nib business is less exploitative than I thought, now that I look into it. (Which would be relevant if I addressed the lack of tilt sensitivity on my current tablet. It's a small one, too, but that just means it fits among everything.)

I've always had issues drawing in the traditional physical medium, so while I'd like to take it up digitally, and buy a tablet, I don't know that I can justify the expense to myself.

I'm kind of the same way. I prefer digital art because of it's colors and vibrance to traditional pencil and paper or even colored pencil and paper. But I don't feel like my drawing skills have progressed enough in that medium to warrant a purchase like that.

I only have a tablet through fortunate coincidence of factors myself. High school graduation, got an amazon gift card, got a bamboo fun sans software, ended up paying $15 out of pocket. But I haven't seen any deals like that in the five years since I got it.

I don't know why but the last time I used an art tablet I didn't really like it.

An adjustment period is not abnormal. I vaguely remember absolute cursor-position feeling odd at first. Ultimately, it's just a way to get more stroke control.

I'm mildly dejected that compared to the tablet, we spent more on art supplies that have sat in a box slowly degrading ever since. (But art classes are good for accessing 3D reference material, and feedback, and new techniques / spatial properties to consider. FWIW, to some extent, all these things are available for free.)

I'm amazed that something like Grumpbumpers is still so functional after all these years. Like someone has bothered to continue to pay to maintain the domain for it.

Grumpybumpers rather.

It's just a website that spits out one of the urls you've submitted into it everytime you refresh the page.

The programmer responsible remains active in the indie game community, judging by his personal site and blog, via the discreet little link in the corner that I'd never noticed before.

Now, I don't know how many of you will understand why this makes me cringe so much, but:

Because Linux is supposed to be an open source OS and to have Microsoft distributing it on flash drives sort of defeats the purpose?

Not quite. MS isn't distributing it on a flash drive. It's more of the fact that Microsoft had an... interesting relationship with FOSS over the last 20 Years. (eg. Steve Ballmer calling it a cancer, Microsoft's famous 90's policies that drove up why it's so dominant.)

Okay like. If you guys haven't watched Steven Universe you absolutely should. Like you should so hard. I can't even put into words how much you should.

I believe I heard of that one. Don't know if I get that one on TV, or where to look for streaming.

Also: Hobbits Based off of Ancient Greece. That was an idea I saw on another forum and I thought it'd be neat.
