Oh shoot! JazzTap, that's AWESOME! I oughta have asked before I closed this down for good, I had no idea you spent so much time on this!

I'm not gonna shelf this for good, certainly not with that kinda story behind it :D We'll see what happens. I just don't want this to crater immediately after starting, but I suppose if we can get a good, solid beginning, the rest of the planning and RPing won't take too much time out of our weekly schedules, as we'd be able to do it in bits.

I inevitably wind up daydreaming anyways, but this setting is more interesting than most. Hopefully somehow we'll get to use that.

Assumption: Spirits are things that died.

Inference: Little spirits are generated endlessly. So, unless the whole world's clogged with them, they have a half-life. (Or they feed off background radiation. But that's still a resource constraint.)

Proposal: Big spirits - the sapient kind, notably, - are agglomerations of little spirits. Maintained by force or by like-mindedness.
Consequence: The phosphor spirit is slowly dying. (Perhaps its refuge has been invaded by deceased plains-settlers. Especially ones killed by the Iron_Wind.)

Headcanon: Spirits get on better with shamans that remind them of themselves.

Trivial consequence: Cool shamans i.e. all of them get cool spirit buddies.
Plot consequence: When 'Alala meets the phosphor spirit, Feckless will be along, intruding on the sacred compact.

Note regarding the ecology of urban spaces: Spirit life includes rodents, birds, pets, poor / elderly / unlucky folk, business deals, other ambitions, historic neighborhoods, and other comparatively interesting things. (The 'inanimate' stuff has a harder time manifesting, admittedly - except to Torqat, Automatons, Golm...)

That's still an awesome design and I still love it. *u*

Unfortunately my Thanksgiving was dominated by spending time with the fam and writing papers... I can assume I'll have more time off for Christmas, but in the two weeks leading up to Dec 12 my days will be mostly just studying for finals, so I miiight have time to put this back on track. I'm still all for it if y'all are :P
