Davy Jones rested in his Heart. He hated resting. The act itself was beneficial, but it allowed his mind to wander. And when it wandered, doubt crept into his mind. He got up and summoned two more Sailors, checking that Gaoithavis was out searching for more targets. He couldn't bear to stay idle for too long.

Just six more, Gaoithavis. Surely it can't be too hard to find six people.

This pathological desire to work continuously can not be healthy for your mind or body.

Don't argue with me, just do it!

Well, I have found a family of five visiting the sea shore. They are distant from any houses. However, I can sense your fatigue. You need to sleep.

Fine. I shall rest, but the job shall be done. Take some Sailors and the soul lantern and get me some souls. We shall see how well I have redesigned the Sailors' thinking.

Gaoithavis gave a mental nod and flew back to the Heart. Davy Jones went to his rough bed to sleep, dreaming of the terror he could reign.

Lei shen looked with a small smile as 2 Xia's were finished and the Jaden Quillen too.

The Xias where quickly empowered.

But the lighting crystals where depleated by giving power to those Xia's.

But Lei shen had the strangest idea. He took out his seemingly slowly growing heart from the bag and let it touch the statue. The statue began to shake. The jade statue diidn't move. Strangly it began to crak. Lei Shen quickly jumped back as the lighting on his crown seemed to radiate power.

As Lei shen was ready to smite it.

The Jade Cracked to reveal a jade lion. 'strange'. But it was different. It had delevoped gem like eyes. Its mane had become yellowish but still jade. His eyes brows and the small beard also. Its claws were sharp but still jade. For the rest it seemed fine. (if you fidn the beard strange google chinese lion )

But than from the Quilen's mouth came breath. It was breathing!! How is stone breathing.

It had seemingly come alive.

But its hide was still hard. Interesting , very itneresting.

But now it had started He had loyal workers, the first soldier of his army.

But The Xia sculpting and the limited amount of power he could store and gather at one time would need to expand greatly.

First of all his heart seemed more to say felt uncomfortable in the sack.0 It longed for ground. To grow like a plant.

It seemed to tell him , to wishper to him. But Lei shen refused to simply plant his heart.

He would build it in A Great Tomb and from this Tomb this resting Place would grow. A mightly palace , a walled domain. Wonderous works will come from his rein.

He again grabbed his heart and let it touch a large boulder. Lei Shen fell to his knee as the entire rock turned into Lighting Gems. A rough large Gem.

He shouted at all the xia's who where trying to help him. Its a waste of my power to create the lighting gems more usebull and masterfull made.

I want you to turn that rock into as many lighting crystals as possible.

You there mad servant. The mad man eagerily jumped up "Yes THunder king what must I do! I have been so bored!"

Lei shen said , "Take the Quilen with you and go gather some extra temporary work force."

The Mad servant asked "I don't have money to pay em.é Lei shem did an ancient chinese Face palm replying "you pay em by letting them live. If they won't earn their pay then let the quillen kill them."

Meanwhile the chained mason was enjoying a sip of water. Lei Shen used some magic to incerate the bush next to him. "Who said you could stop working! Make More Quillen!!"

Dungeon Keepers: the Stranger World - Page 6 Empty
PostSubject: Re: Dungeon Keepers: the Stranger World   Dungeon Keepers: the Stranger World - Page 6 I_icon_minitimeFri 14 Jun 2013, 11:53 am

Khazid'hea had arrived in the town he had- roughly- sensed the energy from, some days ago.  In all that time, however, he had yet to see a single sign of the keeper.  There had been occasional blasts of power from the ocean, but nothing nearly powerful enough to track back.  Finally, however, he caught a break. While visiting a tavern- he'd switched bodies to an older man, a sailor by trade- he began to hear rumors of mysterious disappearances and wrecks at sea. Combined with the power he felt running through the ocean, Khazid'hea finally knew what kind of keeper he had found. Better still, he knew where he could likely find the keeper's dungeon- the sewers. After all, it would provide easy access to both the city and the ocean, things any respecting keeper of this type would need. that, and the sailor he inhabited knew the coast well, and further knew that there were few caves nearby, and that none were large enough to conceal a dungeon.

So Khazid'hea descended, in the dark of night, into the sewers.

Tekkeitsertok stepped from his heart, his second creation finally ready. He had spent days in the heart this time, ironing out small problems and creating a warrior his army could build from. he had begun with a golem, this time he had decided to design a form for his first elementals to take upon themselves. As he placed the magic framework upon the portal, he could feel the first of the more destructive forces in the realm begin to head his calls, and rose to meet his requirements. The beast before him was hunter, not prey, and one his followers knew well. The beast stood almost eight feet tall upon it's hind legs, and it's jaw was capable of crushing rocks or trees with ease. The great granite bear stood before him, claws and teeth of iron and eyes rust red, and he smiled. His progress toward conquest had truly begun. Perhaps it was time to send out scouts...

As he thought, he realized that none of his creatures could truly blend in, and it would be a waste to create a new creature solely to scout the landscape around him. Instead, he stepped back into his heart, and began to rework his Shale Steeds.

While he worked, his elementals had toiled, accomplishing what he had asked and more. First, they constructed a great chamber before his heart, with no wall between the two but a drop of two feet, so that the great beast's skull glared down upon his servants. When this task had been completed, they collapsed the previous tunnel, filling it with earth, and began reworking the terain to form a great maze, who only entrance was, at it's center, a ladder which lead to the secret entrance within the temple. Throughout their work more and more imps had arrived, and they now numbered nearly twenty in all. Outside the temple, a small village had sprung up, with two primary castes- hunters, and priests. They fed themselves and their families easily, Tekkeitsertok's ambient magic speeding the growth of plants and drawing in wild animals, especially caribou. finally, his imps used his design to craft more shale steeds, effectively increasing the strength of his army.

Creature #1(redo): 0/3
Imp Project: wall strength improvement, wall decorations, lighting: 0/3
creatures- 18 imps, 20 Shale Steeds, 1 Granite Grizzly
resources- Small Inuit village
location- southern Nunavut(south eastern NWT)
Keeper- Tekkeitsertok, taking the role of a native god of hunting, caribou, and the earth. Communes with the ground around him.

((wow it's been a bit, promise not to take this long in the future!

... yeah, that's probably a lie.))

Dungeon Keepers: the Stranger World - Page 6 Empty
PostSubject: Re: Dungeon Keepers: the Stranger World   Dungeon Keepers: the Stranger World - Page 6 I_icon_minitimeSat 15 Jun 2013, 9:04 pm

The family was having a happy time on the beach. The two parents were sitting on a rug on the sand watching their kids play in the water. They never imagined that this little trip away from home would end horribly.

Over the dunes suddenly emerged two dark-skinned figures in dirty clothes brandishing swords. The kids were the first to notice and point, and the parents followed their children's gaze. They jumped to their feet and scurried backwards, startled by the murderous look of the visitors. Thinking they were bandits or pirates, the father fearfully tossed his money bag to their feet, hoping they would go away. They gave barely a glance to the bag and continued to advance.

The parents shouted to their children, telling them to run, but at that moment two more of the dirty dark-skinned beings emerged from the ocean, one on the left and one on the right, boxing them in. One, a young girl, tried to run up onto the beach, so one of the first to emerge intercepted the child and felled her with a sweep from his sword, dropping into the waves.

The mother saw her child attacked and ran screaming to try and help her. The father ferociously attacked the other intruder, gripping his sword hand so they were locked in a struggle of strength. The remaining two children tried to swim away, but were out-swam and dragged under the waves. As the mother tried to approach her fallen daughter, her path was blocked by the murderer. Gills on the side of his neck flared for a second, and she was frozen in place by fear. These strange unholy creatures that weren't quite human had come and murdered her children. She turned and ran, and the creature followed. She would have escaped, too, if an oversized seagull didn't fly into her face, creating a gash along her cheek. She stumbled and clutched her face, and in that critical second her assailant caught up, stabbed her and dragged her body into the sea.

Meanwhile the father was wrestling on the ground with his assailant. He had overpowered him and was punching the attacker like a cornered animal when the others arrived, dragged him off, inflicted mortal wounds by their swords and left him to die in the sea.

Now the seagull was perched on top of a nearby lantern with held dozens of points on ethereal light. Its eyes glowed white and five more points materialised inside the lantern. Then it spoke.

"Good work, Sailors. You have proven your loyalty to our master, Davy Jones, and we are one step closer to the conquest of the town, and eventually the world."

The Sailors saluted the bird.

"Now we return to the Dungeon immediately."

The Sailors departed into the ocean and Gaoithavis took to the air, carrying the lantern with him.

The Mad man went riding the quillen to the scond nearest village sicne the nearest was destroyed by Lei Shen.

The townsfolk and militia seemed not to want to listen to him. But strangly for him hide away.

They did listen when the last arm of the last militia solder was devoured.
So he gave them work and pay in lei shen's service.

The new slaves had to help make quillen and lighting attrectors. Under the eye of Lei Shen and the Jade Quillen

They started moving jade , moving lighting crystals. And some prety women were allowed to bathe the great Lei Shen.

Davy Jones had been in his Heart watching the assault through Gaoithavis' eyes, and channelling his magic to capture the souls. By now he had eaten and Gaoithavis had returned with the lantern, before returning to the surface to patrol and hunt. Jones' own dinner had been pretty poor. It consisted of previously dried meats and biscuits which had been soaked in seawater and then left to poorly dry. The result was quite difficult to swallow. However, soon he would be able to eat whatever he would like.

The denizens of the Dungeon, bolstered by one by Davy Jones' work summoning after dinner, had settled down and nodding off to sleep when sloshing footsteps were heard at the entrance to the sewer. Jones silently alerted those who were still mostly awake and signalled them to rise and get ready. He wasn't having his cover blown this far into his scheme.

The seconds which followed were extremely tense. There was no doubt that the visitor would see the strange, faint light emanating from the entrance to the Heart from the sewer and investigate. However, nobody knew who this visitor was, or whether they were armed. Everyone had their breaths held.

Then the man holding a sword stepped around the corner and gazed in. As if on a hair trigger, Davy Jones lashed out telekinetically, grasping the man's throat tightly so he could not shout or run, or breath for that matter.

Down the road Entilon and his growing army continued throughout the stormy night, leaving only burned houses and desecrated corpses in their wake. By the time the fifth farmstead had been razed, the construct's thralls numbered just over a dozen. Years of commanding the armies of various keepers and other equally malevolent masters had left the construct utterly without mercy, and so he assaulted each home with the same ruthless method.

Entilon would wait hidden outside, while his thralls would storm into the house, breaking down the door or windows if necessary. Then, while the family inside was still tired and confused, they would quickly seize any able-bodied men who could make decent warriors, and the construct would reach out through his servants to enslave the struggling victims. Then, the rest of the family would be murdered, in most cases before they even realized what was happening and had a chance to fight back against the marauders.

Finally, the older thralls would loot the home of any valuables while the nascent ones armed themselves with whatever weapons or tools were available in their dwelling. Then, the home would be set ablaze, and the warband could continue. With each skirmish, more of Entilon's power returned, for the monstrous construct was a being of chaos, his very nature to enthrall the weak minded and have them burn and pillage their own kind.

The dark, overcast night combined with the vast spaces between each family's homes allowed Entilon to continue without alarming the rest of the unsuspecting humans to his presence, which would be disastrous. Granted, the resulting anarchy would be extremely satisfying, and even amusing to an extent, but the humans would inevitably scatter about, making their extermination more difficult, before proceeding to gather together and form a militia in some vain hope of fighting back.

For those reasons, Entilon made the mistake of continuing this pattern and attacking the next farm, which at a quick glance looked to be ten times the size of the previous few that the warband had sacked. The plantation owner lived in a mansion atop a small hill, with his farm behind the house. Surrounding the fields were many small dwellings that houses farmhands, as the rich owner's family couldn't possibly be big enough to work the entire plantation, even if they were willing to bring themselves down to such work.

As was bound to happen with Entilon, a god-forsaken demon whose luck had left him ages ago, one of the servants within the mansion had a nightmare and decided to gaze out a window. Seeing fifteen or so cloaked men running about on this rainy night with torches and what looked like weapons, and then what looked like flames engulfing one of the neighboring farms, the servant panicked and quickly woke everyone in the house. At first the owner's family and the other servants were nothing but agitated, for bandits were not common around these parts, but after they too saw Entilon's party a little ways down the road and quickly approaching, they began to arm themselves.

Many firearms were quickly scrounged, mostly from displays, but only two were loaded. With no more time to spend searching for ammunition, two men prepared to fire out of the mansion's second-story windows, while the rest of the people inside took cutlery from the kitchen, the only other weapons to be found within the household.

When Entilon and his minions approached, they were in for quite a nasty surprise. The two upstairs with guns fired. Both of the two hit their mark; one of the attackers was dead, and another one fell down heavily wounded, and was given a quick death by another one of the assailants. But then, the two's rifles needed to be reloaded, and no more ammunition was at hand.

Lei Shen saw how his little bandof quillen was growing into a pack.
Things were going allong quite fine but all that work on the statues and bring them alive. Began to get very time consuming.

He would let his mason an Xia make a magical device which would create Xia and Give them life.

This machine would need lots of power. Lucky they had made a lot of Lighting attractors and  fairy large. This oculd power it and give Lei Shen the needed workforece. To start his rise to power in overdrive.
Once enfough workers would be assembeled they could start to create His Palace.

In the Mean Time He would gather more 'volenteers from nearby villagers

OOC: Real life has me busy with work, a summer college math course, and the boyfriend. Unfortunately none of the three are like, "Oh, it's cool. Take an hour have fun and write." Not that my bf is no fun he just rather play video games with me then watch me type. :) Also I might edit this post later and throw in some Amorie.

IC: Ordine and the two silversmiths were making their way to the summoning chambers. Between the three of them, pieces of glistening barding was carried. The armor was huge and heavy and vaguely detailed. Ordine's red marking rested on the helmet and shoulder parts. As a whole the armor was mostly smooth with jagged razors rising off here and there in a uniform manner. There also appeared to be empty slots in the armor to hold gems or other upgrades later. They entered the room and placed the barding in the second portal were it was swallowed by the light. "Let's meet our new allies." Ordine tugged at the light with her will. It shivered then let loose a beam of energy onto the floor.

What emerged was a large, pale golden, glowing, ethereal figure that formed some cross between a tiger and cheetah. Silver armor covered the creature's chest, paws, back, shoulders, head and silver rings adorned its tail. It walked forward a few paces , the heavy armor appearing to be light as a feather to the creature. It stopped and let loose a roar. Its glow and eyes flashed red for an instant as the sound echoed off the walls for seemed to be a indefinite period of time. "This is a Katar. As you can see its very strong and fierce. But those aren't even its best feature. That we'll display today."

The imps went back to their work while Ordine left with the Katar to the Dungeon Heart. "Thus far we've taken all of the human's useful physical resources. But there is still one thing that they can offer us; their lifeforce. It's key for power or army members and there's no sense in just letting them waste it up there. You and I shall go harvest some from the farms we have already raided. We'll go during the day when our glows are less noticeable and the humans will be out in the open working, and thus easy prey for you." The Katar nodded and growled in response, its red glow returning briefly. "Before we leave though, we need a way to transport the lifeforce back here. For that we'll use this." reaching into a pouch on the side of her armor she pulled out a small diamond that likely was on a ring before being removed. She set it in her palm and the reached into the Heart. When she pulled her hand back out the gem was hundreds times the size it used to be. She snapped the gem into the center slot on the creature's helm. "That will instantly teleport any lifeforce we harvest to a new portal in the summoning chamber. We can store it all there until we need it. Now, lets be off."

((I can't claim to have been particularly busy or anything, it was just that it started to seem that BBeast and I were the only ones posting. But now that I can see this thread is still thrashing, I'll be more active. Oh, and I fast forwarded a bit at the end of this post, so you can encounter Entilon any time now, Amaranth.))

As soon as the men leaning out of the windows shot two of Entilon's thralls, the rest of the warband surged towards the house, intent on knocking down the door and massacring everyone inside. A rash and idiotic plan. Entilon commanded his minions through the mental connection established in their minds, "Hold back! Take cover!"

Most of them obeyed, but the three most willful of the thralls managed to defy their master's orders, as he was still in a greatly weakened state. Having minions with a small bit of their mental faculties intact was much less taxing on Entilon's mind than taking full possession of his minions, but the downside was that the minions had minds of their own and were occasionally prone to acts like this.

The three, one brandishing a scythe, one a hatchet, and the last a branding rod managed to knock down the locked door. The first one through, who held the branding rod, was stabbed from behind before he could even swing the metal implement. One of the servants had been standing to the side of the door with a knife, and had succeeded in taking the marauders by surprise. The thrall wielding the scythe tried to attack the servant, but the narrow hallway made swinging the long weapon awkward and a second servant managed to finish him off as well. The third one of Entilon's minions managed to bury the hatchet in one of the servant's skulls before he succumbed as well.

Meanwhile, one of the thralls standing outside chucked an oil lantern through the open door and into the house. The wooden floorboards were engulfed in flames within seconds after the lamp shatterered and spilled its oil everyone. Soon, the whole building was an inferno, and the household was trapped inside.

Entilon was livid; he had already lost five of his warriors, which amounted to about a third of his followers, all on this one foolish attack. To make matters worse, the humans who were now jumping out of the second floor's windows were breaking their bones, rendering them unfit to be enslaved and used to replace the five dead thralls.

Enraged as he was, Entilon couldn't claim this raid to have been a total failure, however. The havoc and bloodshed brought to this serene farm delighted and strengthened the demonic construct. To make matters even better, the farmhands living nearby soon saw the manor burning and arrived with buckets of water to help, only to find themselves face to face with the minions of some evil spirit garbed in silver robes. A few of the farmhands put up a fight and two more thralls fell, bringing the casualties up to seven, but in the end the raid was a success, and Entilon managed to enthrall fifteen more, bringing his warband's numbers up to just shy of two dozen.

Unwelcome memories returned to pester the construct while his minions looted and burned the farmhands' nearby dwellings. Entilon remembered back to a time before he had the name and powers that he now held, when he was only some petty human lord who dabbled into magics best left untouched. That was a time before he had burned a hundred of his subjects and sworn himself into the service of a demon in exchange for immortality and magic. A time before he had then turned on that demon and banished it back to the abyss from which it came.

The morning's rising sun shone down on Entilon, reminding him of the demon's burning eyes. The monster still plagued its betrayer, occasionally taunting the construct about how he would inevitably find himself dead at some point, and have the "pleasure" of being able to serve once more, only this time in a much more fiery place.

The construct had his small army loot the area much more thoroughly this time, and decided to stay in this area for a few days. Some of his thralls dressed as common outlaws watch the roads, making sure to kill or enthrall any travelers. In this way, Entilon hoped to not draw much attention for a few more days while he raided the last few farms on this part of the island. Having found enough time to pry a bit at the minds of his some humans before he enthralled them, Entilon learned that there was a nearby town only a day's march away, and then another one just further down the same road. Soon, he would move his army against those larger targets.

OOC: I was going to save Torrens for a little later, but I don't have anything to do now so I'll get him going now.

As Torrens' dark, fleshy hands harvested the sap from sugar cane, he had plenty of time to seethe, boil, plot and reflect. It took his mind off the intensity of physical labour and the burning skin on his back. The sun's heat harmed him! And insects bite at his skin, when in Ages past they would fry getting close to him. He definitely needed to get out of this human body.

The trip over here had been most uncomfortable. At first his main concern was the ocean. The fear that the bottomless supply of water would suck every drop of heat from his body. This fear was, of course, irrational, as humans usually don't have such problems. But he still had no idea how to swim, so he spent his time staying away from the edge of the ship. But it wasn't smooth sailing, so to speak. Conditions were horrendous. He was cramped with the other slaves and food was rationed out in scarce quantities. To make things worse, the time was made dull and lonely by his inability to communicate to anybody. All the other captives were able to make friends in the journey, but as he didn't know any language spoken in this world he was left in solitude.

The trip felt like it dragged on forever. However, they eventually arrived at a port in a place called 'Brazil'. There he and the other captives were dragged out and sold to rich white people. One of them bought a large group, including Torrens and a few people from the village he had come from. They were taken to a sugar cane plantation and forced to work, harvesting the sugar cane with only minimal rations as payment. He hated the people who captured him. He hated the people who sold him as a slave. And he hated the people forcing him to work. He would have his vengeance soon. No doubt about it.
