I'm not going to lie here, I'm pretty bad as a GM, I'm either painfully boring, or a litttttle too over the top, and end up letting the players get away with too much. So, I'll read through this and think on it.

Okay, I'll likely run a sci-fi thing, you know, androids super soldiers lasers and the like.

I'm trying that, actually... Sci-fi being sci-fi, I expect sci-fi justifications for things, none of the "It's magic and I don't have to explain it" garbage. That should limit things to a certian scope on their own.

Is it sad that I had a very similar begining of a plot? But yes, those would be my restrictions too, with a 'human/human-construct' rule for characters. Aliens are going to be "new" and "unusual" as you're going to be initially dealing with a rebelious colony. I'm also going to avoid focusing o combat, and more on roleplaying, like I know I should.

Well, that game was going to be my interpretation of SPI II, so not really.

You'll need a balance, though, or use a system that handles social situations in some depth; most RP systems are designed as ways to handle combat, after all.

Well, we're all roleplayers here, so I figured I'd just roleplay most social interactions, keeping in mind established character personalities and how odd it might be for them to sound any kind of impessive.

Any idea where midnight is?

Meh... I'm in a sci-fi-y mood? What if I went out and "tried" to learn me some Shadowrun, ever play it, and either way, potentially interested?

Well, we're just finishing up with Fall Break, so he probably went home and is ex communicado.

I have a friend who's GM'ed shadowrun before, but I have no idea how to play it myself (and getting him to run something would be tricky.

Ah, I see.

I think I kinda get it. A few more days with the book and I should atleast have a firm grasp on the mechanics. As much as I'd prefer to l Participate as a player, like you said, getting someone else would be harder.

Just read the IC OP. You'll find a pseudo character sheet in the tiny text. FIll that out and put it here. I'll stat your character for you.

Depending how timing works out, you may end up coming in a touch late, in which case I'll give you some XP to compensate.

That's both the awesome thing about Exalted and the problem with introducing it to new people: there's so much setting that you kind of have to start from scratch. The last post or two is rules explanation, though, so there's not quite as much fluff in there as it looks like.
