Name: Pedro Rodriguez
Gender: Male
Age: 14
Nationality: Mexican
EVA Unit: 13
Appearance: Pedro stands at 5'5" and weighs in at about 125 pounds and is in athletic shape. He's one of those kinds of kids wear lean muscle tone comes in naturally and is backed up by his athletic habits. He is rather skinny but really can pack a punch when he needs to. His skin is tanned a caramelized brown and has slick black hair that falls down naturally straight to his shoulders, that is pulled from his face (adorned with a once broken nose) and is kept backward by a white bandana with blue trimming. The bandana itself is merely folded in half and tied in the back, and isn't like those one or two inch wide headbands. It adds a frame to his forehead and it ends in the back in a triangle, just beyond his scalp. His brown eyes are a few shades darker than his skin that glistens with fiery determination. He wears a dark navy blue sleeveless shirt that falls down around the base of his thighs, and the shirt itself shows off the muscle in his arms, and over that is a wooden beaded necklace from his grandfather. He wears long, baggy, dull green cargo pants full of pockets and stained with grease here and there, long enough to cover most of the neck of the ankle length, black steel toed boots that look as if they were meant for kicking someone in the crotch. He has a couple of scars from some accidents, nothing really too noteworthy. He has a lengthy scar from falling off his bike into some rocky terrain alongside a mountain path. He also has one in the palm of his hand, after some life changing event. Pedro has been rather wary of knives since. On occasion, Pedro will change between this cargo styled black jacket that he has, and a black and red baja sweater where the sleeves extend down to his wrists, but he normally just pushes them up above his elbows.

Personality: When someone sees him, they're going to think, "Oh he must be a show off" or "Oh great, another stupid jock". In terms of education, sure, he might not be as advanced as everyone else and his book smarts is only so extensive compared others, he is actually a rather smart, but confused and oblivious boy. Reading and writing isn't his strong points, but he excels in mathematics, engineering, mechanics, that sort of thing. he is very technical. He's nice and sweet, but kind of confused in a way, like he's never quite sure where he is. He's also a bit oblivious to some things people may say, or what jokes that comes out of some people's mouths. Overall, he's can be rather quiet and modest. There are some exceptions to that however, as at times he can be quite the dare-devil, and can brag when he is really proud of himself. He was a free runner back at home in Valle de Santiago, Mexico. So he flips around, runs about, climbs to the tops of trees, polls, and buildings, and then jumps of them simply for the thrill. That doesn't mean he'll put a team at risk simply for the sake of a stunt, no, that's a more personal thing. He can sometimes get lost in thought, a lot of times thinking about his mother and wondering if she'd be proud of what he's done. Which can get him sad, but that's why he likes working with machinery, it gets his mind of troubling matters. If someone were to be looking for him at night, they'd find him in his quarters, lying in bed with nothing but a lamp and a book he's struggling to read. Of course he doesn't know how to read very well, but that's why he's trying, seeing as how he wants to know. Having a kid around that struggles with reading isn't the best choice to make, but Pedro is very detail oriented and communicates better than most through verbal matters.

Bio: Pedro was born on a farm in a typical Mexican family that valued tradition – tradition that didn’t interest Pedro at all and tried his best to avoid partaking in them. They were in the outskirts of town and were about fifteen minutes away from the closest market if you were to break the speed limit on the highway. Tradition and prayer didn’t catch his attention as much as mechanics and vehicles. If he wasn’t working out on the farm he would be either fixing the car or taking it apart and then putting it back together again, and this was when he was only eight. When he was ten years old, word got around for his affinity for vehicles and fixing things, and soon started going to him for repairs, uncaring to the fact that they were putting the burden of fixing their vehicles on a ten year old child (and that a ten year old child is what’s fixing it!). Pedro didn’t know the worth of money and really, he didn’t care. He found it fun in a way and only charged the amount that would equal in our eyes as ten insignificant dollars. People started calling him ‘la grasa de errors’ or ‘grease bug’, and “hacedor de Milagros”. Miracle worker. Things changed sixth months after his tenth birthday in November. His dad had gotten into drug dealing without the family knowing, has been for at least two years. He ripped off a member of one of the local gangs without knowing and motorcycles and trashy trucks stormed the farm and driveway and held Pedro and his mother hostage in front of him. They started demanding from him, asking for the entire cache of cocaine and marijuana he held stored down in the basement, as well as the dough that would be considered five hundred American dollars, a fortune to much of the citizens that served under Mexico’s economy. At first he refused, he didn’t believe they would act out against him by harming his family. An unwise decision. One of the gang members took Pedro’s hand and flipped it around to show the palm, and dug a knife straight in. It didn’t break through the bone but scraped right against it. It was enough to make his father cave in and give them everything they asked from him.

And when they finally striked a deal, they lied. They took his wife. They slit her throat, only before raping her body and passing it around as if it were a pipe full of dope. The worst part of it? They made him watch… Fortunately for Pedro he was hiding upstairs before the heinous act had been committed. All he heard were the dreadful sobs of his father. Still to this day, he isn’t quite sure what happened to his mother. He knows she died, he knows the gang did it, and he knows her throat was slit; but then the rape afterwards? That still remains a mystery to him. It became apparent that Mexico wasn’t safe, not a safe life for Pedro to be growing up in. The hand had been taken care of and would be back to working order in as little as a month. After two years of building up money, his father decided to send him to a place where he could spend his future doing what he loved, and would be involved in things beyond his dreams – Pedro never imagined being surrounded by EVA’s, and only found himself dreaming about being surrounded by all sorts of cars and trucks. Now he has been associated with NERV for two years (funny how the number 2 keeps reappearing), having never been a pilot, but helped in repairs of the mechas. He was small enough to get in there and handle advanced equipment and help work on the EVAs, while the corporation help provide education to get him up to speed. He can read simple books, as long as there wasn’t a three or four syllable word in every couple of paragraphs. He found reading hard, but found math quite enjoyable. He also got up to date on some of the more advanced equipment, and learned rather quickly too. While he hasn’t ever been a pilot, he will be soon. He’s scheduled to his very own EVA very soon. Despite him working on most of the EVAs, the one in construction for him is a complete secret, and is entirely unknown to it.

Important Details: He has difficulty reading, but has grasped some of the terms needed if you were to work on the robots and pilot vocabulary, and is better at hearing directions. He has some trust issues and worries about people possibly stabbing him in the back but listens to the reassuring words of the NERV officers that mentored him. He isn’t as skillful as the others when it comes to piloting an EVA, but damn, they shouldn’t give him a hard time about that if they like their mech, he worked on it! Also, while working on other EVAs in the middle of a battle, Pedro has to open up a different screen so he can see what he is doing. In this position, he is blind to all outside combat and everything around him besides the EVA he is working on and what he is working on. He also has to keep his left arm up in a tiring position to keep the shield raised. So he’s working with on hand, but fortunately, he has all the tools he needs in that one hand.

Unit#: 13
Weapons of Choice: Pedro’s EVA is very limited in terms of weaponry. Despite being Aztec by design, the equipment looks more Spartan by nature. The EVA has a large, gold-titanium plated, circular shield with no particular design, and a large spear. The spear head which is about as large as the EVA’s head is made of the same energized material as a progressive knife and can pierce through metal with ease given enough force. The right hand of the EVA also looks more technical than most, as it is able to rearrange itself to a collective amount of reengineering tools. Such as a blowtorch, an electrical fuser, and a bunch of other doohickeys to repair the mech. Since this is on a larger scale, it is harder to get into the mech and repair it down to the last scrap. It’s only capable of getting a damaged EVA back into working order and being able to function. The progressive knife looks like a typical bowie knife.

Appearance: The EVA is rather tall, lean, and skinny like Pedro is itself, but it doesn’t look as durable as other EVAs and it sure as hell isn’t. It looks far more agile however and looks capable of landing in swift, strong blows. The golden plated head looks like that of a hawk that helmets around the main face which looks like the other faces – sleek and alien like, with a large, metal, colorful, feathery mane that falls down from the back of that helmet. The beak of the helmet cowls over the face which is the color of bronze. The overall body of the mecha seems to be that bronze color but the chest is covered in this large collar protection type armor which is gold color plated and glows in the center. This area protects the main power core of the mecha. Back to the bronze colored body, it is formed to appear rather humanoid and on it is designed some plates that look like abs, and besides that, everywhere else is either gold color plated or that typical silver looking metal, which plates most of the forearms, most of the shin and thighs. Both hands have a brass color and the right hand of the mecha seems to have a lot of joints and sliding points in it, while the left hand looks a bit bulkier, which is the shield carrying hand. The shoulder fins are kind of small and looks like a bunch of blades overlapping each other, made to look like very small wings. This doesn’t really add much to the mecha besides some aero-dynamics.

Combat Specialty: It’s more of a medic mecha. The EVA itself is less durable than the other EVAs but has a shield which can defend itself against most of the attacks the Angels throw at it, and it swift and agile enough to slip past the attacks and defenses to strike a blow, but is not built for taking the kind of damage an EVA can get in close-range combat. It’s best suited for repairing other EVAs in the midst of battle with its shield raised to provide some cover while doing its job.

Name: Motoko Maris

Gender: Female

Age: 14... Why even put this on here?

Nationality: She is half New Zealander and half Japanese, her looks come more from the Japanese side of her family.

EVA Unit: Unit 02

Appearance: Obvious Japanese lineage, though the subtle hints towards her New Zealander parent. She has auburn hair, which is soft and flows to her shoulders when it is not put up in it's usual pony tail. Her eyes are a deep brown, with no discernable flecks of another color. Her features are delicate and fierce; a short sharp nose, angled chin and face. A scar that is barely noticable from more than a few meters away glistens just above her left eyebrow, a mark from the incident when she was nine (see Bio and personality). Her body is thin, while she weighs just over 52 kg or ~114 pounds she is 162 cm tall or just over 5 foot 3 inches. She is lithe and flexible, but also strong and is more than capable to open the dreaded pickle jar.

She has long, agile fingers, all but her pinky are double jointed, as are most of her other joints. A distinguishable lack of feminine influence can be seen in her stride which is long and sure. Her tomboyish attitude and grim expressions are directly attributed to Motoko's split personality. Kagami is quite the opposite, Feminine, happy, and ofcourse, creepy as all get out. The difference between the two is close to polar opposites in appearance, Kagami likes her hair down and the bangs covering her eyes, with this very carefree smile on her face. Motoko has this gloomy smirk with saddened eyes and likes her hair up in a pony tail and her bangs put behind her ears.

Personality: As I have made pretty clear, she has an artificially made split personality, Motoko and Kagami, Motoko being very sad, silent, and antisocial, but perfectly kind and just a bit angsty. Kagami though is happy, social, and competitive, as well as sadistic and clever. (Don't get too worried about this, I probably won't switch between them all the time or crazy stuff like that. But after she is knocked unconscious or attacked or something... yeah. She'll probably have conversations with her self though... in her own head of course, not outloud. ^^')

She likes to converse with Kagami, because they were once one persona. She just doesn't like how Kagami hurts people, and Kagami doesn't like how Motoko doesn't assert herself.

Motoko has several quirks, first off being a mental list of rules she has to follow. This list has probably 30 odd rules on it, all of which are not sensible, though some have a bit of common sense in them. Second quirk is she likes to think before she acts, often thinking too long, conversing with Kagami and such as to what she should do.

Bio: Motoko has had a life filled with pain and vile emotion directed at her. Unfortunate circumstances lead to her mother and father's dissappearance before she was at an age to remember them, and for some strange reason, there were never any pictures of them to look at. So, she has no idea what either of her parents look like, or which one was Japanese or New Zealander, though she is convinced that she saw a document once or twice that said her father was from New Zealand. She does not even know if her parents are alive or dead, though she assumes they are. The only part of her early life she remembers is of a dusty house that assumingly belonged to her grandmother. A vile woman who all but directly tortured the girl for some unknown hatred. During this time, Kagami, Motoko's imaginary friend helped her through the constant abuse. The woman went senile and the girl was removed by her fifth birthday. After that she went to live with a distant cousin and her husband delightful people really, at first anyways. When she was about eight the happy family split up from an issue too elaborate for an eight year old to understand, even a very mature eight year old that Motoko was. She went with the distant cousin who treated her like a daughter, but constantly reminded the girl that she was not her mother. This created a partial detachment from her, and enforced the antisocial behavior of the girl. Kagami was all but forgotten, a simple idea of girl in her head.

The cousin blamed her for the separation, one more vile thing in the girl's life. When she was nine the distant cousin hit her, knocking her down and into a waste bin. She was unconsious for several minutes and when she came to, she was not herself. At this moment a "split personality" was made, though it was not an actual one, the girl simply made it. (Her normal, standard nine year old girl personality had been cleaved in two. Now she had a negative self and another more positive self, which was a far more social, emotional, need I say happy, girl who called herself Kagami.) The cousin took Kagami to the hospital to have her looked at, saying she was a clumsy girl and she fell. Kagami, being clever and evil, silently tortured the cousin by making her feel horrible with small insinuations and the like. Motoko took back control after the episode at the hospital, having a smirk on her face for several minutes as the cousin apologized in the car on the way back home. But Kagami manifested herself so deeply into Motoko's psyche that she became an actual, artificially created portion of Motoko.

Kagami and Motoko walked through their lives different individuals except their use of the same body. Motoko was fearful of Kagami, your probably thinking "Why?" Well... Kagami was far more than a happy girl, she was a sadistic, clever, and... crazy, little girl. Motoko's personality was negative, pessimistic, but stable and calm. Not the psychotic homocidal bitch that is Kagami. Luckily, Motoko could control it, at first she only took the persona of Kagami when she had to... take care of business, barely overcoming the persona before the poor bully was knocked unconsious.

Ok, back to the actual biography... She was booted from that school. Four years later she is thirteen and finally gets through junior highschool, graduating early because of Kagami's (and Motoko's hidden) intelligence. She has been through three schools, in that time, two in the last year. Its been getting harder for her to take on the now very real part of her brain. And this scares her, and her behavior is making the cousin scared too. Motoko turned 14 one month after getting out of school. She found it difficult anymore to do anything without needing to use Kagami to help her... which was exceedingly dangerous, though also helpful because Kagami had no inhibitions, she took what she wanted. Motoko was too timid to ask for anything, so she never got much attention.

Anyways... the letter she got a couple months after graduating said she qualified for the Evangelion program. She was... ehhh about it. But Kagami, she was ecstatic.

(So a basic rundown, Motoko originally had Kagami as an imaginary friend to keep her company during the period of time she was with the abusive grandmother, Kagami was nearly forgotten afterwards. When the cousin started to get abusive after the divorce, she used it like a person she could step into and take revenge on her cousin. Overuse of Kagami's persona started an addiction and a manifestation of Kagami into a real part of Motoko's mind. Instead of Motoko's and Kagami's minds blurring together once again, they became more and more distinct, with most people being able to tell they are not the same person if they do not know her. Kagami is more of a last hope when Motoko is trying to do anything. Kagami and Motoko do know what is going on while the other is in control, so it is not a dissociative Identity disorder, or any other disorder because of the quirky behaviour of the two people.)

Important Details: Well other than the split personality... she thinks far too much. Also as Motoko she could hardly take any life, unless she absolutely hated it. Kagami on the other hand, is reckless, killing needlessly and rushing in guns ablazin', knifes aslashin'

Unit#: 02
Weapons of Choice: Besides the obvious progressive knife, which is the knife of 02 in the anime, in that it looks like a box cutter and it's blade if it ever breaks is quickly replaced by another in the handle. Another feature of the progressive knife is to use one of the spare blade segments to extend the blade another few metres. She carries a handgun, which is matte black and matches her Evangelion's armor paint. She also carries a sniper rifle, just a standard generally ineffective one. And finally a bazooka thingy that she will never use. EVER.

Appearance: Images: Mainbody Front, Side-ish view, and sideview of head. Overall Unit 02 looks pretty standard for the First Evangelion units, With the segmented torso and everything. Its pylons that contain the batteries are swept back to prevent collision with the units large horns that stick out from either side of the units forehead. Its elbow plating is also swept farther back and tipped with sharper edges. Its fingers and thumb are pointed as are the tip of the ... boot? The Patella or knee cap armor is teardrop shaped and comes to a point off of the surface. The progressive knife is held on the hip of the unit. The head of the unit is its most disturbing feature, as it has this extremely creepy smile, and orange eyes in the middle of its strange quadrangular visor thingy stand out, though most of the time the Visor is opaque and glows fully orange. The entire unit is primarily matte black, though some of it is Metallic black. The secondary colors on the chest, arms, legs, helmet are orange, and the pieces of stuff in between armor plates is grey.

Combat Specialty: Offensive for the most part, though it is indirectly offensive in that she aims to demoralize and divert her opponent. Kagami on the other hand savagely attacks directly.

Other: We still doing this free hugs thing, because it sounds fun.


And... finally with school pretty much over after Finals I can complete this, I hope it is okay as I had just watched a weird show with split personalities and figured it would be interesting if used well. NOW TO GET CAUGHT UP ON VARIOUS THINGS I HAVE BEEN MISSING. ^^'

It doesn't sound like the actual disorder, which would call for her to not even know Kagami is there, so is it more like a defense mechanism that got out of hand, a sort of Donna Williams-type situation? Did she start out using Kagami so she wouldn't have to face hard challenges on her own, but then Kagami started to become dangerous? Was Kagami initially completely controllable, like a mask, until Motoko unconsciously made her into a real person that could not be called back whenever?

Also I was talking with Patches over PMs and I realized I forgot a really important thing. So...

It started as a self defense thing, so that she could take care of the abusive grandma, and carried over to the slightly less abusive cousin/guardian. Googling Donna Williams turned up stuff on autism... so I'm not sure what you mean by that... But yes, it was not originally something she could have a conversation with, but sort of like a mask or a role she would act on. She started think so much about "how Kagami would act", or "how Kagami would feel" that it became a part of her mind, and slowly turned into an actual person inside her head. Kagami had been in her head for a while, but when the cousin/guardian hit her and knocked her into a waste bin (gonna go with a metal one) she just let it take over. Of course, she didn't just jump off the ground and pummel her cousin, she was unconscious for a while and when she woke...

Instead of blathering on about this... I am going to edit the Bio and remove all of the random paths of thought.

In her biography she mentions developing "personas" to help defend herself, but over time they became less like masks and more of real people. At least from the way she writes it they seem that way.

Terribly sorry for double-posting, but editing would not give this attention. The IC is going up today, as in soon. I am in the process of writing the post. Now onto the course of events. You will all be waiting in apartments reserved by NERV, or else taken by your parents if they have the resources. Supervision is optional, as the organization will provide a chaperone if necessary. Most of you have just arrived recently, and will be taken down to NERV for the first time by creepy men in black (no seriously they exist in the show). Patches, PM me as to what you want Pedro to do. Others, PM me if your characters have different circumstances.

I'm graduating on Saturday and packing tomorrow, so I'll be a touch late.

I wrote my entire first post, but it got deleted...I'm gonna start re-typing it now ;-;
